It has quietly built a loyal following among skincare enthusiasts thanks to its elegant texture, modern UV filters, and skincare-focused formula. After seeing it recommended over and over, I finally decided it was time to find out whether it truly deserved all the praise.

Instead of relying on a standard squeeze opening, Haruharu uses an airless pump system inside the tube. This may seem like a small detail, but it serves an important purpose. By reducing exposure to air, moisture, and bacteria, the packaging helps keep sensitive botanical ingredients and oils more stable throughout the product’s lifespan.

I also appreciate the thought that’s gone into the outer carton. It’s made from FSC-certified cardboard, printed with soy-based inks, and even includes Braille lettering to make the product easier to identify for visually impaired users. That’s not something I see very often in skincare packaging, and it’s a genuinely thoughtful addition.

That said, the packaging isn’t perfect.

Since the tube is completely opaque, I never know how much sunscreen I have left. What impressed me most is that this sunscreen doesn’t feel like it’s sacrificing skincare benefits in exchange for sun protection. It genuinely feels like wearing a lightweight moisturizer that also happens to deliver excellent UV defense.

Texture & Finish

This is probably my favorite part of using this sunscreen.

The texture reminds me much more of a hydrating facial moisturizer than a traditional sunscreen. It’s creamy enough to spread easily but not so thick that it feels heavy or difficult to blend.

Once applied, it glides across my skin with plenty of slip before gradually settling into what I’d describe as a soft, velvety semi-matte finish. It isn’t completely matte, but it also doesn’t leave my face looking shiny or greasy.

One of the biggest wins is the complete absence of a white cast.

Once the sunscreen had fully settled, I couldn’t detect any lingering scent at all.

Skin Type & Compatibility

Based on both my experience and the formulation itself, I think this sunscreen is best suited for normal, combination, and dry skin.

The combination of ceramides, black rice extract, niacinamide, and soothing plant extracts gives it a moisturizing quality that makes my skin feel comfortable throughout the day instead of tight or dry.

It’s also been tested as hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic, meaning it’s designed not to clog pores and is generally suitable for acne-prone skin.

That said, there are a couple of caveats.

In the United States, you’ll also find it at Target, although the price there is generally higher than ordering through international K-beauty retailers. The trade-off is faster shipping and the added reassurance of buying from an authorized retailer.

Amazon can sometimes offer competitive pricing, but I’d personally be cautious.
